Steve Holloway - Director
I originally trained as an accountant with Surrey Chartered accountants, Wise and Company. Qualifying in 1994, I moved out of public practice and became head of finance for a £50m turnover computer company. During this period I gained a broad understanding of various aspects of business being responsible for a 400 strong car fleet, 15 properties, an HR department and a £17m annual spend budget. These skills gave me the confidence to break free and set up my own practice in 2001.
Outside of work I am absolute car fanatic. I currently have a mint 20 year old 205 1.9GTI and a 30 year old Porsche 924. I also love walking with the dogs every day here on the island or fell-walking when I get the chance.
Peni Harman – Practice Manager and HR Consultant
I started my working life as an engineering apprentice and only made my way in to HR as a result of the outbreak of the first Gulf war ( a long story!). I qualified with the Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD) in 1995 and subsequently joined the same IT company as Steve a year later. In fact, I managed to convince Steve that setting up AccountancyShop was such a good idea and then promptly took his job when he’d gone! A year later I became global Head of HR for an entertainment company before leaving to set up my HR consultancy business which has bought an amazingly diverse range of projects over the last eight years.
My passion in life is dancing, having been a qualified teacher since the age of 18. In 2008 I was appointed as one of only 55 worldwide dance examiners and this gives me a great balance with my HR work.
Steve Holloway is licensed and regulated by AAT under licence number 2047. AAT is recognised by HM Treasury to supervise compliance with the Money Laundering Regulations and Median Accountancy & Taxation Services Limited is supervised by AAT in this respect.
